I was SO excited to earn the rank of Director in my Scentsy business. I’ve been an Independent Scentsy Consultant just under two years and have had a blast running my own business.
But before I go further, let me once again thank my family, friends and customers. Without you all — none of this would be possible for me. THANK YOU!
Today I want to share a few points on why you might want to start your own business with Scentsy, some “getting started fast” tips, and how I was promoted up the ranks.
First the not-so-fine print: I cannot guarantee your income and rank advancements. Scentsy is not a pyramid scheme nor is it a get rich scheme. You DO have to put in the work to be successful! I’m sharing tips that have worked for me, but they may not work the same for you and/or you can come up with your own formula for running your own business. (Yes, you can customize your business – This is what makes Scentsy great!)
The good news?
- You can start your own Scentsy business fast.
- You can work your Scentsy business as much or as little as you desire.
- You can become a Scentsy Director (or much higher) in much less time than me.
Why you may want to start your own Scentsy business.
Basically, it is one of the best direct sales businesses to start and you can run it your own way. It’s so quick and easy to start — with no inventory required — and, I would say, VERY little risk involved.
I guess I’m biased (wink!) — but I’ve tried other direct marketing businesses but can honestly say there is no other company like Scentsy.
What your Scentsy business looks like and “getting started fast” tips to be successful.
How you decide to structure and work your Scentsy business and what your Scentsy business looks like is up to you! Remember that and know that what worked for us may not be best for you.
But here are a few tips we tried that worked for us.
- Choose a business name, build your brand (share your business name everywhere) and register for an external website.
- Start a Facebook Page.
- We’ve also had luck with Pinterest. You might enjoy Twitter.
- Blog about Scentsy specials and other topics relevant to your chosen niche.
- Don’t forget the basic home party concept the company was built on.
- Try a fundraiser for an organization you support.
- Follow up with customers and “just ask” if they would like to try the latest Scentsy Scent of the Month.
How to become a Scentsy Director fast.
Take a month (or less) to work fast and learn all you can about running a Scentsy business. Note offers such as the Combine and Save options to give customers the most product for less money (they will appreciate that and remember you). Then, once you have a feel for the basics and have your launch party under your belt, focus on a niche and recruitment.
Never forget your current personal customers, of course, but sooner than later if you aim to go far with Scentsy and build a profitable business, you will need to build a team. And building that team sooner than later will help you sooner than later.
A team is needed (at least 3 active personal recruits) for higher-level promotions. Another requirement for promotions are various levels of team sales. Bottom line: You can’t do it alone.
There’s only so many hours in the day for you to work. Many hands make light work and you need those hands to help. There is enough business to go around, too, that’s for sure.
